Highbury Concrete was established in New York in 2013 by a team of construction industry professionals to leverage their experience in the concrete superstructure field. Specializing in mid-rise to high-rise projects, Highbury Concrete has participated in some of the iconic projects of the past decade in the Greater New York City Area.

Skyscraper construction is on the rise, with more structures finished in 2018 than any previous year. The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) revealed in its annual report that 18 new supertall skyscrapers have been completed during the year.

China was the runaway leader, with eleven of the buildings. In the over-200-meter category, 143 buildings were finished, with Shenzhen, China, the site of 14 of them.

As urbanization rates rise and populations become more condensed in smaller areas, construction of tall buildings is likely to continue growing. CTBUH expects 150 tall buildings to be completed in 2019.
